5/19 p05 engine bottom

Underneath the engine looking up. The light colored pipes are air intake. The darker grey ones are exhaust. The exhaust pipes cross-over so opposite cylinders join. That's a performance enhancement for some reason. You can see the propellor governor in the middle. The generator for the electrical system is behind it on the left. The starter is the black cylinder behind the prop governor on the right. There are some small metal braided hoses up against the crank case in the bottom of the picture to the left of center. These route smoke oil from a pump in the forward part of the cockpit into the exhaust manifold, where the oil burns and makes smoke. We replaced these and rerouted them because they were touching the crank case and fraying from the vibration and constant rubbing.
